DR. CORI STEPHEN
Veterinarian & Practice Owner

Dr. Stephen is a local Vanderhoofian; moving, as a child, from Vancouver Island in 1979. She is a graduate of the local secondary school, NVSS and a 2005 graduate of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. She has two boys who keep her busy when she is not wearing her DVM hat; you will find them at the soccer field, the hockey rink, the pool, running on the trails around town or riding horses. In their spare time, they love spending time outdoors fishing, camping, and exploring. Dr. Stephen is also an avid equestrian competitor at the Provincial level in the sport of Eventing. As a veterinarian, her scope of patients is specific to horses and small animals. She is a Veterinary Acupuncturist and uses Integrated Therapies when it comes to supporting the health of her patients. She prides herself in the dedication, knowledge, skills, education and commitment of the health care team at Nechako Valley Animal Health Services. Professionally she is a member of the College of Veterinarians of BC, the Society for BC Veterinarians, the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, the Association of Veterinary Acupuncturists of Canada, Horse Council of BC, and the Canadian Association of Veterinary cannabinoid Medicine.

KAITLIN LOEWEN
REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNOLOGIST

A born and raised Vanderhoof Girl. She graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 2013 with a Diploma in Animal Health Technology. She has always had an interest in working with animals. Kaitlin got her start in the industry as a volunteer at NVAHS and worked her way through grade 12 and university before coming back full time. Outside of work you can find her spending time with her dog or friends and family, snowboarding, or catching up on a good book.

KAILEY DUBE
CLIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE / VETERINARY CLINIC ASSISTANT

Kailey grew up in Clinton BC, but recently moved here from Hudon's Hope. She has been around animals from a young age and has always wanted to work around them which made her a perfect addition to the team. Kailey was a member of the Clinton 4-H Club for 8 years and competed in rodeo throughout her life. She moved north after graduating from highschool and has decided that Vanderhoof is the place for her. Outside of work you can find her with her spouse adventuring outdoors, with her family, dog, cat or one of the horses.

DR. AMANDA JANZEN
VETERINARIAN

A 2016 grad from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Janzen has been working at NVAHS since graduation, besides a maternity leave when her son was born. Dr. Janzen was born and raised in Vanderhoof, BC and developed a keen interest in animal health growing up on a farm and being heavily involved in 4-H. While she thoroughly enjoys the variety of cases in a rural-mixed animal practice she has a special interest in cattle work, equine reproduction, and ophthalmology. Dr. Janzen received two awards at vet school; one for Excellence in Large Animal Medicine and one for Small Animal Clinical Skills and Communication. Outside of work you may find her out camping and fishing with her husband and young son or working in her garden.

LEXI PHILIPS
CLIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE / VETERINARY CLINIC ASSISTANT

Born and raised in Vanderhoof, Lexi grew up quite involved in the community. She played on multiple hockey teams, was involved in the North Valley 4-h club for 8 years, and attended many horse camps. Lexi graduated from NVSS in June 2021 and shortly after she joined the NVAHS Animal Health Care Team. Outside of work you can find her, riding her horse, spending time with friends and family, or anything involving the outdoors.
